Assistant Manager

£12.00 per hour

30hrs per week

Monday to Friday only. No weekends.

 

We are seeking an Assistant Manager to join our team at a busy preschool in the heart of Woolpit Village. The ideal candidate will have a passion for childcare and possess strong leadership skills to support the smooth operation of our establishment. The Job role is for 30 hours per week (including office time). All year round.


       Duties


  • Provide professional childcare, take care of, play with and teach children while they are at the setting.
  • Be attentive to children’s needs and take care of their hygiene needs.
  • Assists the Manager and leads when the Manager is unavailable.
  • Supervising children’s play time and following the EYFS learning plan created by the Manager - Childcare Lead.
  • Making sure they follow the health and safety procedures during children’s play time and assess any issues or concerns. If any issues or concerns are found, discuss these with the Manager.
  • Engaging children in learning and play activities. Provide activities that extend children’s learning.
  • Updating Tapestry records.
  • Have a positive relationship with the parents/carers.
  • Complete IEP’s as appropriate.
  • Take part in parent’s/carer’s meetings for your key children’s progress.
  • Maintaining a high standard or operation at the setting.
  • Attending monthly staff meetings.
  • Preparing snacks and drinks and helping children with their lunches.
  • Reporting any issues or concerns regarding the children to the Manager and/or SENCo.
  • Makes sure the setting’s cleanliness standards are maintained to the highest levels. We also have a daily cleaner.
  • Maintain first aid boxes and ensure they are well stocked, and the contents are in date.
  • To be the assistant PANCo (Physical Activity and Nutrition Coordinator) for the setting - this includes updating the snack menu and planning the physical activities with the PANCo’s input and order the online weekly shop.
  • To ensure that our statutory training is up to date (on our printed grid) and inform Office Manager when it needs to be updated and any further training is required.
  • To encourage and offer staff further training opportunities where suitable.
  • To assist with recruitment of new employees. For example, attend interviews.
  • Doing regular open and closing checks and filling in the paperwork.
  • Ensure that families are signposted to other services where appropriate.
  • Promoting the setting within the community.
  • Complying with all procedures set in the setting.
  • Updating contractors file when necessary.
  • Updating policies and procedures regularly.
  • Order resources requested by the Manager or with Manager’s permission.
  • Support with some office-based work: laminating, printing etc

 

Experience
Previous experience in a childcare setting with at least a level 2 qualification required.

Strong team management skills with the ability to lead by example.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.


Do you have any childcare qualifications? Minimum Level 2 required.

Play Assistant / Lunch Cover

£11.44 per hour

10hrs per week

11.45am - 1.45pm

Monday to Friday only. No weekends.

Term Time only


This role is 5 days a week, Monday to Friday, but flexible if you want to work fewer days, as this role could be shared.

No weekends


We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our experienced team as a Lunchtime supervisor at Woolpit ARC. This role is to cover our staff whilst they have their lunch breaks.

 

Qualifications: A full and relevant Level 2/3 qualification would be an advantage, but is not essential. The successful candidate must have GCSE English, level 4 or its equivalent.
